PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Description of TOE
This TOE is a software component which provides groupware services and security functionalities which are common to both StarOffice X Enterprise V1.5 and StarOffice X Standard V1.5.
They are groupware products designed for use within company internal networks.
Upon operating this TOE, the system administrator registers "offices", each representing an organization in the user company.
Users of this TOE (Office Administrators and regular Users) are able to register document data into "cabinets" registered under the office they belong to, according to the access privileges set for each cabinet Documents registered under the cabinets can be accessed by and shared between users, according to access privileges set based on their organization, classification, position, etc.
This TOE can have multiple cabinets to meet the users' purposes.
"Folders" can be registered under the cabinets to organize multiple documents as a single unit.
(e.g. If an "office" represents a corporate division, "cabinets" may be registered for each task team under the division, and "folders" may be registered under each cabinet for each of the projects the task team is assigned.)
"Shortcuts" can also be registered as a link to another cabinet, folder, or document.
Also, documents may be accessed via their shortcuts from other services which this TOE provides, such as the Mail Service and the Noticeboard Service.
This TOE provides the following services; Cabinet Service, Mail Service, Noticeboard Service, Calendar Service, Facilities Reservation Service, and the Phonebook Service.
This TOE also provides Maintenance Functions for these services.
TOE security functionality
This TOE provides, as security functionalities, Identification/ authentication and access control of the Cabinet Service to prevent unauthorized access (such as destruction, falsification, exposure) to documents or folders in the cabinets.
Provided with these security functionalities, each time a user (Office Administrator or regular User) uses the TOE's Cabinet Service, user Identification and authentication are performed, after that access is controlled so that the user can only access allowed objects (i.e. folders, documents, etc.).
