Cryptographic Techniques Submissions FY2001 (Provisional Translation)

Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (abbreviated to IPA) is promoting a cryptography evaluation project (CRYPTREC) in cooperation with Telecommunications Advancement Organization of Japan (abbreviated to TAO). One of the goal of the project is to make the lists of cryptographic techniques, whose features are picked up and of which are evaluated, for the common security basis to the Japanese e-Government. The primary systems including cryptographic techniques are planned to be implemented by FY2003 as the Japanese e-Government.

Cryptographic techniques' candidates were openly called by IPA and TAO. In response to the call, 31 applicants were submitted. Table 1 lists those submissions.
