The Australasian Information Security Evaluation Program

Abstract:

The Australian government, through formal IT security policy and guidance, supports the use of products evaluated under the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement. The Australasian Information Security Evaluation Program (AISEP), a combined Australian and New Zealand initiative, operates as a certificate producing body within the CCRA.
Management of the AISEP is performed by the Information Security Group, Defence Signals Directorate, with additional input from Australian Industry, Academia and key government departments provided through a Management Advisory Board.
The presentation to the ICCC will briefly address the structure and history of the AISEP, details of the testing laboratories and recent initiatives to make the certification process more efficient and cost effective. An important component of the presentation will be to explain how the AISEP contributes to Australian government policy for the use of evaluated products.
