Introduction of Japanese Information Security Evaluation and Certification Scheme(JISEC)

JISEC (Japan Information Technology Security and Certification Scheme) was established in April, 2001, and it joined in CCRA in October, 2003. JISEC is operated by IPA (Information-Technology Promotion Agency, Japan) which is Japanese Certification Body.
JISEC has issued the certification of more than 30 products as of July. There is the feature with which certification of multi function devices occupies more than half among them, there is also certification of unique products like digital camera and financial terminal in addition to PKI software and smartcard software etc.
Since the Japanese scheme established and four years passed, we have aimed at improvement of operation and service in this scheme last year. The presentation will be explained about situation and application in the Japanese scheme.
