OSS iPedia is the database of the OSS related information. It is constructed and operated by OSS Center. It aims at providing an infrastructure and unification for OSS information that is unevenly distributed among a part of the enterprises and personnel, and is expected to promote OSS utilization through providing the integrated information.
The registered information is mainly divided into three types, "Case Examples", "Performance Reports", and "Knowledge Base". "Case Examples"is the result information of introduction cases by IT vendors, and it is categorized by the lines of business of the enterprises introducing OSS, and by the application and scale of the system. "Performance Reports" is the information related to the evaluation results of various combinations of OSS components and information such as evaluation on performance and reliability, evaluation script, and evaluation procedures are included. Furthermore, information such as Glossary and Q&A are provided as the "Knowledge Base".
It is composed of search by objects, search by conditions, and search of the full text. It also corresponds to metasearch, where cross-cutting of the information is available. Thus users can access adequate information quickly.
