The collection and analysis of information, such as successful technological cases and OSS introduction process cases, will be conducted and legal and system issues will be reviewed and studied, thereby we provide adequate information to users planning to introduce OSS, or users having trouble using OSS. In conducting this activity, we regard the environment, in which regional software companies can deploy OSS business with confidence, as most important. In order to achieve this, the collected information is open to the public through "OSS iPedia" (Database), and interchange meetings with the local government, software companies, and OSS related groups will be held. Educational activities for the persons in charge of procurement will also be carried out for the promotion.

For tasks such as studying patent risks, the GPL new versions and procurement guidelines, we will research the leading-edge overseas trends related to technology as well as systems collaborating with related organization in other countries. In addition, studies for enhancing OSS related computer security and reducing vulnerability are also being planned.
