PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Description of TOE
This TOE provides Internet Storage Service to ASP/SaaS providers, so that ASP/SaaS providers could use this service to provide their own services to general end-users.
The data to be stored using this TOE are divided into fragments by erasure-correcting-coding. Fragments are stored in storage devices located in multiple sites. Fragments will be assembled and decoded to the original data on demand. Even if some of the fragments are corrupted due to system failure or natural disaster, the original data are expected to be retrievable, according to the features of erasure-correcting-coding.
Several security functions are provided in this TOE. (1) Access control function (e.g., prevention against adverse tampering and exposure); (2) distributed date restore function; (3) integrity validation function; (4) trusted channel function (e.g., encryption of transmitted data).
