Organization of IPA/ISEC

In January 2004, IPA/ISEC has restructured its organization.  At this time, 75 staffs, including 28 guest researchers and 13 assistant staff, are working.

Mission of Information Service Activities

We provide information regarding Information Security as public service mainly in Japanese.

Mission of VUAC (Virus & Unauthorized Access Countermeasures Group)
Our mission is to keep track of damages caused by computer viruses and unauthorized computer accesses and to provide the countermeasure information regarding viruses and unauthorized computer accesses.

Mission of Secure Infrastructure Promotion Activities

We are promoting secure information infrastructure and helping METI's information security policy.

Mission of LAB (Security Engineering Laboratory)
Our mission is to provide practical solutions to technical problems regarding to software security.

Mission of CRYPT (Cryptography research group)
Our mission is to conduct cryptographic research and evaluation. At present, CRYPT is working on CRYPTREC project in cooperation with NICT.

Mission of ISCO (Information Security Certification Office)
We conduct ISO/IEC 15408 based certification schime, which is called JISEC.
