7.申請テーマ概要

Although several types of document database systems: wiki, blog or groupwares, have been created, still there is no system which perfectly fits for a small group of people who are gathered to create an innovative idea.

This is because these systems are basically designed for publication of independent reading materials, even though they can be easily linked or commented; whereas for innovation, individual experience and “luck” is rather important.

I suppose there are three conditions where creativity of an individual is catalyzed: a small team, variety of backgrounds of the team members, and automatic  interactive mechanism of shuffling ideas.

It has been not easy to satisfy these requirements at the same time (In particular, first and second conditions seem to contradict each other); however the situation has change.

Several data formats can be dealt in a unified way using XML, and each PC has plentiful CPU power and data storage so that every body can carry a huge database which archives their whole documented experience and its history.

Standing on this point of view, it might become possible to create a program which satisfies these

 three conditions at once.

The goal of this project is to design a document database management software, which can be used

alone to store individual experience, share information among the group members' databases when

connected, and maximize the chance of information-chemical-reaction among them. Every time

different people bring their own databases and connect them, a unique document database will appear

 in front of them.

8.採択理由

There have been many systems developed that target the group innovation problem. Namely how can the ideas of a distribute group of people be cross-exposed to each other in a manner that both informs and still stimulates the AH!!! Reaction that occurs when a new idea is born. Most of these system - better all of them have been failures.

The proposer has another line of attack that provides a mechanism for pushing relevant information to the small number of participants in a creative session. The equivalent of an assistant who is listening to the discussion and provides documents and other information based on what he has heard being talked about.

The proposer has created an informative proposal which is both well presented and loaded with information. It suggests that he is organized and will likely make a major dent in the effort he proposes.

There are many interesting aspects of such a system including the pushing of inter-group ideas and competitive information.

I very much like the idea and would believe I would enjoy working with him
