7.申請テーマ概要

 My proposal is proposed to find people who have similar experience or backbround through our proposed personal agent in our online communication environment system. The applications for our proposal cover many fields such as online communication, especially for young people, and also groupware, social network, even for business cooperation.
There are kinds of online communication tools currently but still the information from human, especially the attention, non-verbal data are not used widely, and partly it is because it is still difficult to communicate with multiple channels of data, especially without non-verbal information of users. 
In my proposed project, online personal agent plays a role as a secretary, who can help users to get the "useful" information and connect users to some communities with similar interests or focuses. I plan to create several interfaces to use online personal agents for online communication and connect up different kinds of interface applications into the online system to meet users' needs. This system tries to get multiple channels of information, easily and visually and includes numbers of aiding functions/interface to help online users get involved into the online environment.
From now on, online communication will be developed more and more and I think now there is a good timing to ride the recent wave of new style of online communication and the market will be very board too.



8.採択理由


 Ever since the introduction of the idea of agents, there have been a excessive number of proposals for human oriented agent systems and a scarcity of actual working examples that actually would be useful. In addition the proposed use of eye tracking and other non verbal interaction could remove a major limitation to many systems -- that is the keyboard command nature of many systems.
The proposal has the potential for use in many areas of application such as for financial analysts, intelligence analysts; people shopping on the internet; students etc. There is interesting research in the use of brain wave signals that could also be interesting input. I like the potential that this proposal has for creating new ideas of how to interact with computer systems and displays -- for example the use of TV sets and eye movement and buying. Most interesting potential.
