Spottie - a virtual companion for children

７．申請テーマ概要
|
In
this project, I will develop a smart software agent in Squeak named
Spottie will infer users' intent and assist users. A Spottie agent
will notice changes in the state of the Squeak user interface and
react its own way. Moreover, Spottie aims to be fun and easy to
use for children. Children interact with the software agents just
like interacting with pets. Through the interaction with the agents,
users would understand and use the basic concept of computer programming.

８．採択理由
|
|
This proposal is further work that extends the results and directions of
a previously funded project and researcher. It is likely to produce good
results, and it involves considerable learning on the part of the children
end-users.
