-To Reinforce a Safe and Secure Information Society
Over half of the population is now using the Internet, and
its convenience is rapidly improving with the growth in
broadband connections. Information and telecommunications
systems, including the Internet, have become one of the
elements that comprises our social infrastructure.
However, while convenience is improving, threats to information
systems cause serious problems for social and economic activities.
These threats include computer viruses and worms that indiscriminately
and widely infect others through networks, data squeezing
by unauthorized accesses via networks, and systems shut
down by attacks exploiting software and other vulnerabilities.
Attacks on information and telecommunications systems are
also increasing and worsening as information technology
progresses.
At our Security Center, we are working hard to implement
information security measures and policies with the aim
of maintaining safe and secure information society by protecting
information and telecommunications systems against these
threats with focusing on the following five projects. |
