The IPA Security Center accepts reportings of discoveries and damages of viruses and unauthorized accesses. The number of notifications, overviews, and specific countermeasures are announced every month through press releases.
At our Virus and Unauthorized Access Consultation Service desk, we provide advice on countermeasures and preventive methods for persons ranging from those suffering damage for the first time to system administrators. We provide about 1,500 consultations per month.

We send out urgent countermeasure information via our homepage when a new virus with potential for massive infection breaks out or serious vulnerabilities that may cause devastating damages are detected.
We provide information and send out warnings based on information generated by our own Internet Fixed point Observation System (TALOT2), that observe the outbreak of vulnerability exploitation, by exploit codes or worms, which could result in massive damage.
